JOB DETAILS

We are looking for a 3D Printing Technician to join our growing team supporting a range of additive manufacturing projects. This position will suit either a graduate with hands-on experience across multiple 3D printing technologies or an experienced manufacturing/engineering technician looking to transition into additive manufacturing.

Working within a busy and innovative production environment, you'll be responsible for preparing, operating, and maintaining 3D printers (FDM, SLA, and Carbon), as well as carrying out post-processing, finishing, and assembly of printed components. The role requires a practical, detail-orientated approach, a strong understanding of digital manufacturing, and a willingness to learn and develop new skills in additive processes.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Operate and maintain a range of 3D printers (FDM, SLA, and Carbon systems)
  • Prepare models for printing, including slicing and file optimisation using CAD/CAM software
  • Set up print jobs, monitor builds, and ensure print quality and dimensional accuracy
  • Perform part cleaning, curing, sanding, polishing, and painting where required
  • Assemble multi-part builds and prepare finished components for delivery
  • Carry out quality checks and maintain documentation in line with company standards
  • Troubleshoot print and equipment issues to minimise downtime
  • Manage materials, resins, and consumables inventory
  • Support process development and continuous improvement within the workshop

ESSENTIAL EXPERIENCE

  • Practical experience with one or more 3D printing technologies (FDM, SLA, or DLP)
  • Strong understanding of digital file preparation and basic CAD principles
  • Hands-on workshop experience, ideally involving mechanical assembly or finishing
  • Excellent attention to detail and a methodical approach to problem-solving
  • Good communication and teamwork skills

DESIRABLE EXPERIENCE

  • Familiarity with Carbon 3D or similar high-performance additive systems
  • Knowledge of post-processing methods (e.g., vapor smoothing, surface finishing, painting)
  • Experience working within an ISO or quality-controlled environment
  • Basic understanding of materials used in additive manufacturing (polymers, resins, composites)
