M Gaze & Co Ltd are looking for a motivated Site Chemist to support waste acceptance, classification and compliance within a regulated waste management facility. This role provides technical chemistry support to site operations, customers and internal teams while ensuring full compliance with UK waste legislation and Environmental Agency permits.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assess, sample and classify hazardous and non-hazardous wastes in line with WM3 and EA guidance.
  • Complete pre-acceptance checks, waste acceptance/rejection and generate hazardous waste documentation.
  • Maintain accurate inventory, laboratory and compliance records, including quarterly and annual waste returns.
  • Support site operations with safe waste handling, segregation and compatibility checks.
  • Carry out site monitoring activities including container inspections, compost temperature logging and safety culture checks.
  • Provide technical and regulatory advice to customers, sales and operational teams.

Requirements

  • BSc in Chemistry (essential).
  • Good understanding of chemical properties and hazardous waste classification.
  • Strong attention to detail with a safety-focused mindset.
  • Good communication and organisational skills.
  • Experience in waste management or environmental compliance desirable but not essential (full training provided).
