New Build 62 Bed Care Home situated in the Lincolnshire coastal town of Mablethorpe in the county of Lincolnshire. The Home will offer Day, Respite, Residential and Dementia Care in a state-of-the-art new purpose built home.

We are looking for an experienced 2nd Chef to join our New Care Home in Mablethorpe, you will have full autonomy over menu development creating nutritious menus whilst working with residents to tailor menus around them.

The successful candidate will not only have an in-depth knowledge of nutrition and cuisine, but must be a self-motivated leader capable of working independently.

All our meals are made from fresh seasonal produce and you have to have knowledge of special dietary requirements. This is a hands-on role, as you will be managing a small team within the home.

Ideally you have experience of working in a care home setting or be an experienced Head Chef looking for a better work life balance

The following skills and experience would be preferred and beneficial for the role:

• Sociable flexible working hours
• Preparing food from only fresh seasonal ingredients

• Control of your own budget

Required knowledge & experience:

• At least 1 year in a similar environment as 2nd Chef.
• Health & safety procedures including control of substances harmful to health (COSHH) and food safety standards.
• Proven chef and people management experience.
• Basic knowledge of dietary requirements for older people and the impact of food types on medication.
• Basic Understanding of IDDSI
• Working with fresh seasonal produce
• Baking and Cake making

Required skills:

• Able to negotiate, influence, organise time and prioritise activities.
• Able to work in a pressured environment and produce meals based on implemented menus.
• Flexible, innovative and able to work as part of a team and individually.
• Basic computer knowledge

Job Types: Part-time, Permanent

Pay: £12.41 per hour
