Mobile HGV Fitter Required

WE ARE D&G ASSIST, AN ESSEX BASED VEHICLE BREAKDOWN, RECOVERY AND REPAIR SERVICE.

Can live anywhere within a 50min drive of RM14 3PJ

Hourly rate is Negotiable depending on experience level starting at £18hr. Increase after trial period

Offering an opportunity to join our current team as a Commercial Fitter. Salary depended on Experience and Ability. To be agreed but set around:

  • Full time position
  • Hours: Mon – Fri 7am to 5.00pm and One weekend on-call/ One weekend off
  • Location: Various locations in Essex & Kent & London/SE
  • Minimum Requirement: City & Guilds or NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in Motor Vehicle Mechanics; OR Proven Track Record/Experience
  • Negotiable - Competitive hourly rate & Hours to be agreed
  • Must have own tools and able to work on own initiative

We are seeking an experienced and reliable individual with a passion for trucks to join our commercial team. Working on our customers', as well as our own, vehicles and will suit those with a flexible approach to work.

You will be responsible for carrying out inspections, service routines and repairs, preparation of vehicles for MOT and presentation for test. All tasks to be performed to the highest standard.

You'll have sound mechanical knowledge of electronic and mechanical systems able to competently diagnose and repair faults in an efficient manner, recording all work on relevant documentation. Holding a C+E licence an advantage.

You will need to be able to work on your own initiative and well under pressure with a calm, methodical and safe approach.

Duties

  • Assemble and fit components according to specifications and engineering drawings.
  • Conduct inspections of finished products to ensure quality standards are met.
  • Collaborate with other team members to ensure efficient workflow and timely completion of projects.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve any fitting issues that arise during the assembly process.

Experience

  • Previous experience in a fitting role is essential, with a strong understanding of assembly techniques.
  • Familiarity with flatbed vehicles and their operation is an advantage.
  • A valid driving licence is required for this position.
