Purpose of the Role:

To deliver high-quality teaching, learning and assessment to apprentices undertaking Early Years qualifications (Level 2 through to Level 5). The tutor will guide, support and motivate learners throughout their apprenticeship journey, ensuring timely achievement and professional development aligned with Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) standards and Ofsted expectations.

Key Responsibilities:

Teaching, Learning & Assessment

  • Deliver engaging and inclusive teaching sessions (face-to-face and online) for Early Years apprentices.
  • Support learners to develop knowledge, skills, and behaviours required for their apprenticeship standards.
  • Plan and conduct regular reviews, progress tracking, and formative assessments.
  • Prepare learners for End-Point Assessment (EPA), including mock assessments and portfolio completion.
  • Provide constructive feedback and maintain accurate learner records.

Quality & Compliance

  • Ensure all delivery meets awarding body, DfE and Ofsted quality requirements.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of the Early Years sector, EYFS, and relevant frameworks.
  • Adhere to safeguarding, Prevent and GDPR policies.
  • Contribute to internal quality assurance processes, including standardisation meetings and CPD.

Learner Support & Engagement

  • Motivate and inspire apprentices to achieve personal and professional goals.
  • Liaise with employers to ensure apprentices receive the right workplace support and development opportunities.
  • Promote equality, diversity, and inclusion throughout the learning journey.

Essential Requirements:

  • Recognised teaching qualification (e.g. AET, PTLLS, DTLLS, PGCE, Cert Ed, or equivalent).
  • Assessor qualification (TAQA, CAVA, A1, D32/33, or equivalent).
  • Occupational competency in Early Years (minimum Level 3 qualification).
  • Up-to-date knowledge of EYFS and current Early Years frameworks.
  • Experience delivering apprenticeships or vocational training within the Early Years sector.
  • Strong organisational, communication, and IT skills (e-portfolio system OneFile desirable).

Desirable Requirements:

  • IQA qualification (V1 or equivalent).
  • Experience supporting learners with SEND or additional learning needs.
  • Functional Skills delivery experience.
  • Experience of working with Ofsted or within an Ofsted-regulated training environment.
