About the role

We're looking for an experienced Mechanical/Plumbing Craftsperson to join our Estates Services team. You'll play a key role in ensuring our buildings, wards and clinical areas remain safe, compliant and fully operational for the people who rely on our services.

This is a hands-on role covering both planned and reactive work across a range of Trust sites. No two days are the same – you may be carrying out routine maintenance one day, responding to urgent repairs the next, or supporting minor installation projects. A Trust van is provided for business use.

What you'll be doing

• Responding to mechanical and plumbing breakdowns, faults and urgent repairs
• Completing planned maintenance tasks and statutory checks
• Supporting minor installation and upgrade works across our estate
• Diagnosing issues, identifying solutions and carrying out repairs to a high standard
• Ensuring all work is completed safely and in line with regulations and policies
• Keeping accurate records of completed work, materials used and compliance requirements
• Working collaboratively with Estates colleagues, contractors and clinical teams
• Taking part in the on-call rota (after induction), with additional payments

What we're looking for

• City & Guilds Level 3 or equivalent NVQ in a relevant mechanical or plumbing trade
• Strong experience in building, mechanical or plumbing maintenance
• Knowledge of safe working practices, tools and relevant regulations
• Confidence working independently across multiple sites
• Good communication and problem-solving skills
• Full UK driving licence (Group A)
• Experience in NHS or complex multi-site environments is an advantage
• CSCS card desirable
