Unit Catering Supervisor (Grade 4)

Lancashire County Council provide catering services to over 500 schools across Lancashire, serving over 60,000 school meals per day and we are looking for committed individuals to join the service.

You will work as head of the team in Fleetwood Charity Primary School Providing high quality, healthy, balanced meals for school children.

Key responsibilities:

  • Cook and serve food and beverages in accordance with agreed menus and production plans.

  • Direct and/or supervise other employees.

  • Order supplies and store deliveries

  • Maintain records and stock control.

  • Maintain agreed standards and associated documentation in relation to food and kitchen hygiene.

  • Conduct LCC catering inductions to new members of catering teams.

What we are looking for:

  • Experience of large-scale catering 

  • Excellent customer services experience essential

  • Knowledge of food service and supervisory skills

  • Recognized supervisor or team leader qualification would be desirable.

  • Flexibility with start and finish times to support different unit services. 

  • A good handle on up-to-date allergen laws

Working Hours/Days:

  • Monday to Friday

  • Term time only

  • Pay is pro rata so advertised wage is for full time equivalent.

  • 26.25 hours per week, equaling 5.25hrs per day although hours are variable depending upon school meal uptake.

This position is part time and term time only, please note the salary quoted is full time equivalent, the salary received will be paid on a pro – rata basis.
