Director of Quality & Risk

Are you a senior leader in healthcare governance with a passion for driving excellence, patient safety, and innovation? We are seeking a strategic Director of Quality & Risk to join our leadership team at HCA's prestigious Harley Street Campus:

The Role

As Director of Quality & Risk, you will provide expert leadership in quality governance, assurance, improvement, and risk management across the Campus. You will lead our Governance Team, ensuring robust systems are in place to meet and exceed statutory, regulatory, and corporate standards, while embedding a culture of safety, learning, and continuous improvement.

Working closely with the Senior Management Team, AVP of Quality, and Corporate Director of Quality & Risk, you will:

  • Lead and develop the Harley Street Governance Team across quality, patient safety, risk, incidents, complaints, and improvement.
  • Ensure compliance with CQC, HSE, PHE, safeguarding, and wider regulatory frameworks.
  • Oversee quality governance systems, risk registers, incident investigations (PSIRF), and business continuity planning.
  • Champion a culture of openness, learning, and quality improvement.
  • Drive patient safety, clinical effectiveness, and patient experience initiatives.
  • Report to executive and governance committees, providing insight, assurance, and strategic recommendations.
  • Collaborate on corporate governance initiatives and represent Harley Street Campus at group level.

About You

We are looking for an experienced healthcare governance leader who can combine strategic thinking with operational delivery. You will bring:

  • Significant experience in quality governance, assurance, risk management, and patient safety in a healthcare setting.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire, coach, and develop high-performing teams.
  • Proven expertise in managing compliance with regulatory frameworks and leading organisational improvement initiatives.
  • Excellent communication skills, able to influence at executive and board level.
  • A track record of delivering measurable improvements in patient safety, quality of care, and governance systems.
