Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Drainage Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess an understanding of drainage systems and be capable of working both independently and as part of a team as we are a small, family run business. This role involves the clearance and maintenance of drainage systems, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and standards. The Drainage Engineer will also be responsible for troubleshooting issues and implementing effective solutions, with aid from the office team.
Duties
- Install drainage components using hand tools and power tools.
- Evaluate existing drainage conditions and identify potential improvements.
- Work with other engineers and contractors to ensure seamless project execution.
- Perform regular maintenance checks on drainage systems, identifying any necessary repairs or upgrades using CCTV surveying.
- Utilise knowledge to troubleshoot issues related to drainage systems effectively.
- Carry out unblocking of drains using high pressure water jetting.
- Maintain accurate records of work performed on job cards, including materials used and time spent on each project to be handed in everyday.
- 40 hour week required; on-call 1 in 3 weeks required (no negotiation).
Skills
- Confident in the use of hand tools and power tools.
- Strong knowledge with the ability to plumb as needed for various projects.
- Basic maths skills for accurate measurements and calculations related to drainage design.
- Driving license essential.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently as part of the role.
- Good problem-solving skills with a keen attention to detail in all engineering tasks.
- Strong communication skills for effective collaboration with team members and clients.
