Overview

We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Plumber / Pipefitter to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing piping systems across various construction and maintenance projects. This role requires a strong understanding of schematics, welding techniques, and mechanical systems, with an emphasis on safety, precision, and efficiency. The position offers an excellent opportunity for individuals with a solid background in plumbing and pipefitting to contribute to diverse projects within the region.

Duties

  • Interpret and work from technical schematics, blueprints, and diagrams to ensure accurate installation and repair of piping systems.
  • Perform welding tasks using MIG, TIG, and welding techniques to join pipes securely.
  • Utilise hand tools, power tools, soldering equipment, and other specialised machinery to assemble and maintain plumbing systems.
  • Install, repair, and maintain various types of piping including water supply, drainage, gas lines, and specialised systems as required.
  • Conduct routine inspections to identify potential issues and perform preventative maintenance to minimise downtime.
  • Ensure all work complies with relevant safety standards and building codes.
  • Collaborate with team members to complete projects efficiently while maintaining high standards of quality.
  • Assist in the organisation of materials and tools necessary for each task, ensuring a safe working environment.

Experience

  • Proven experience in plumbing or pipefitting within construction or maintenance environments.
  • Proficiency in reading schematics and technical drawings related to piping systems.
  • Skilled in welding techniques including MIG, TIG, and welding methods.
  • Mechanical knowledge of plumbing components, fittings, valves, pumps, and related equipment.
  • Ability to operate hand tools such as wrenches, pipe cutters, soldering irons; power tools including drills and grinders; as well as specialised welding equipment.
  • Strong understanding of basic maths for measurements and calculations during installation processes.
  • Experience in assembly, maintenance tasks, and troubleshooting complex piping systems is highly desirable. This role is ideal for motivated professionals eager to apply their technical skills in a dynamic environment while contributing to high-quality project outcomes.
