This is a rare opportunity for a commercial Finance Director to join an established, profitable business in Bristol working towards a transaction in 3-5 years time.

-Equity available.

The Finance Director will hold a key strategic Board role, reporting directly to the Managing Director and regularly interacting with the wider Board of Directors.

Whilst owning the strategic financial vision, you will also have a hands on, naturally inquisitive approach, as happy in the detail of a financial model/spreadsheet, as you would be around a board table.

Responsibilities include but not limited to;

  • Leadership of all financial activities of the Group.
  • Advising the Board of Directors in relation to key and/or strategic financial objectives of the Group.
  • Owning and managing all forecasting and budgeting processes.
  • Owning strategic relationships with financial stakeholders such as leverage providers.
  • Leading and supporting strategic finance initiatives initiated by the Board.
  • Developing the capabilities of the finance function, through training, process and system improvements.
  • Leading the finance team as a business partner, supporting a wider financial education & engagement across the business.

Experience required

  • Qualified member of an accountancy body (e.g. ACA, ACCA, CIMA) with significant commercial post qualified experience.
  • You will likely have held a previous role as Finance Director in industry (an agile/dynamic environment) although experience of a transaction is not essential. That said, candidates who have a strong background within Corporate Finance/Transaction Services will also be considered.
  • You will be able to evidence significant stakeholder management/engagement and business partnering (to include finance and non finance audience), or supporting commercial projects, from a finance position.
  • Experience of company or large division level financial responsibility.
  • Experience of ERP/MRP systems development & implementation.
  • Culturally you will foster a naturally collaborative approach where you inspire and motivate through engagement and leading from the front rather than adopting a directive stance.

Package

Basic salary up to £125,000 depending on experience.
