HR Connect is part of of Commercial Services Group, which is wholly owned by Kent County Council. We provide comprehensive HR and payroll solutions to a diverse customer base, ensuring compliance, accuracy and outstanding service.

As an HR & Payroll Assistant, you will support the HR Delivery Team in providing accurate and timely payroll, pensions and HR services. Your work ensures employees are paid correctly, records are maintained to the highest standards and customers receive exceptional support.

• Prepare, update and process payroll, pensions and HR data in line with regulations and standards.
  
• Maintain accurate employee records across HR and payroll systems, ensuring data integrity and compliance with Data Protection.
  
• Provide first-line support via phone, email and live chat, resolving queries promptly or escalating as needed.
  
• Keep up to date with legislation, employment checks, and contractual requirements to provide compliant advice.
  
• Implement and review office systems and practices, suggesting improvements where appropriate.
  
• Plan and organise your workload to meet deadlines and support multi-disciplinary working.
  
• Build and maintain strong relationships with internal teams and external customers.
• Ensure performance targets and service standards are consistently met.
  
• Complete mandatory training and uphold cyber security and data protection responsibilities.

• Strong communication skills and ability to build effective working relationships.
  
• High attention to detail, accuracy and confidentiality in all tasks.
  
• Ability to manage workload under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
  
• Customer-focused approach with problem-solving skills and initiative.
  
• Proficiency in IT systems, including Excel and Word.
