Our Chief Risk Officer (CRO) Function is responsible for overseeing SJP's Risk Management Framework. The function ensures that risks are identified, assessed and effectively managed, aligning with our strategic goals and regulatory requirements. The role of the Risk team is critical in a financial services organisation, providing guidance, trusted advice and challenge to colleagues and Partners (Financial Advisers) who are serving our clients.

Our six-week paid internship is designed for students in their penultimate year of study, offering a valuable opportunity to gain first-hand experience within the Risk team in one of the UK's largest wealth management organisations. Throughout the internship programme, you'll be part of an inclusive and supportive team, contributing to day-to-day responsibilities while also working on ad-hoc projects across the risk team including Financial and Prudential, Non-Financial, and Enterprise Risk, and working with Risk business partners.

The internship provides both structure and flexibility, giving you the opportunity to learn, contribute, and grow in a dynamic setting and upon completion of the internship you have the opportunity of being considered for a position on our Risk Graduate Programme the following year once you complete your studies.

*Key responsibilities:*

• During the 6-week internship you will gain exposure to our risk management processes and procedures across the risk team
• You will gain an understanding of our obligations and responsibilities to our clients, regulators, shareholders, and other teams within SJP.
• You will work with teams in the Financial and Prudential, Non-Financial, and Enterprise Risk teams, and in Risk business Partnering activities. The tasks you will work on will vary but typically could include: analysing data, drafting or reviewing reports, conducting research, updating risk systems and meeting with stakeholders across SJP.

*What we're looking for:*

• You will be currently studying and in your penultimate year of a mathematical, science, or finance related degree subject, with a strong interest in Risk Management in the Financial Services industry.
• You should have excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• You will be competent in data analysis and data visualisation.
• ou must have excellent problem-solving skills. You can challenge processes and outcomes and suggest ideas or improvements.
• You should have an intellectual curiosity about the business and be able to ask questions and apply judgement.
• agerness to learn and develop skills in risk management.
• An interest in technology and innovation in the risk landscape.You should be confident and comfortable speaking with stakeholders in the risk team and across SJP.

*Special Requirements:*
This role is based at our offices in Cirencester, Gloucestershire and you will be required in the office a minimum of 3 days per week during your internship. You may be required to travel to our other offices across the UK from time to time.
