LHH are working with a highly respected national law firm with a strong regional presence, renowned for delivering exceptional client service across a diverse range of sectors. Their Corporate team is expanding in Manchester, creating an exciting opportunity for an Associate to join a high-performing group that advises on complex and high-value transactions.

The Corporate department provides clients with a full suite of services, including:

  • Private company mergers and acquisitions
  • Corporate finance and private equity
  • Reorganisations and share buybacks
  • Joint ventures and governance

You'll be part of a growing regional team that works closely with colleagues nationwide, supported by specialists in banking, tax, commercial, employment, IP, and data privacy. This is a chance to play a key role in a dynamic environment, working alongside an experienced Corporate Partner and contributing to the team's continued success.

Key Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Advise on private company acquisitions and disposals (share and asset deals)
  • Support reorganisations, intra-group transfers, and succession planning
  • Draft shareholder and investment agreements, and advise on structuring
  • Handle joint ventures and general corporate governance matters
  • Respond to day-to-day corporate queries from clients
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships
  • Contribute to business development and marketing initiatives

The successful candidate:

  • 2–4 years PQE in corporate law
  • Strong technical skills and a proactive, innovative approach
  • Ability to manage files independently with appropriate supervision
  • Excellent communication and collaborative mindset
  • Commercial awareness and strong client focus
  • Demonstrable experience in private company M&A at a recognised corporate practice
