Overview

TERM TIME SETTING

We are seeking a dedicated, motivated and compassionate Nursery Nurse to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for working with children, providing a safe and nurturing environment that promotes learning and development. Applicants should possess relevant childcare experience and excellent communication skills in English. You must be able to work 8.45am-4.00pm Monday to Friday TERM TIME. This post is for 38 weeks per year.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise and care for children in a Pre-School setting, ensuring their safety and well-being at all times
  • Plan and implement age-appropriate activities that support developmental milestones
  • Foster a warm, welcoming environment that encourages curiosity and learning
  • Support children's emotional and social development through positive interactions, carrying out activities and being a keyworker to a group of children.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to ensure high standards of childcare and education are upheld
  • Manage daily routines including meal times, nap times, and play activities
  • Demonstrate leadership by guiding junior staff members and volunteers as needed
  • Communicate effectively with parents or guardians regarding their child's progress and any concerns, feeding back to them daily

Qualifications

  • Proven experience working with children within a nursery or early childhood setting
  • Knowledge of early childhood education principles and childcare best practices
  • Excellent communication skills in English, both verbal and written
  • Childcare qualifications recognised by relevant authorities (e.g., NVQ Level 3 in Childcare) or equivalent

This role offers an enriching environment for those passionate about early childhood development, providing opportunities for professional growth within a supportive team. You will be trained to use makaton signing with the children and trained in early interventions that we deliver to our children.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: From £12.90 per hour

Expected hours: 33.75 per week
