About The Role
This is an exciting opportunity for a Project Manager looking to take that next step in their career and work on unique projects.

This is a role within the project delivery team of the JFD operations Department reporting in through the Submarine Escape and Rescue Product Line within JFD's Defence Division.

You will be a key member of the team where you will be accountable for the delivery of a high value, strategically important international projects.

The Project Manager will be accountable for the delivery and performance within the specific product line area which they will be embedded in. They will be expected to have high standards of project management, execution and reporting, all managed through the (PMO) Project Management Office function.

The role incumbent will be required to work with a global multi-disciplinary project team to deliver the project on time, on budget and to the complete satisfaction of the customer and internal stakeholders.

Principle Accountabilities

  • Assist with a strategically important international project within JFD's global portfolio.
  • Delivery of the project on time, on budget, in compliance with the requirements and to the customers complete satisfaction.
  • Monitor, compile and submit project reports to the customer and internal management capturing the status of the project in line with PMO processes.
  • Ensure health, safety, environment, sustainability and security objectives are achieved throughout the lifecycle of the project.
  • Develop detailed project plans to guide the customer and internal stakeholders on the projects progress, status and variances from the plan.
  • Identify, monitor, mitigate and report project risks to internal management.
  • Ensure projects are executed in accordance with JFD's Global Project Execution Process (GPEP) and associated procedures and that the governance is maintained throughout the project.
  • Assign and manage tasks to vendors, engineering, production, and support functions.

Who are we looking for?

You will need to be able to demonstrate leadership and be capable of adapting to various situations and audiences.

Delivery focused you will be a versatile influencer capable of engaging and building long term collaborative internal and external relationships.

An effective communicator adapting your style to suit a given situation.

A proven track record of positively managing customer relationships on complex projects.

Business and commercial acumen and an experienced negotiator, capable of agreeing long term strategic and commercial goals for the benefit for the company.

Qualifications And Experience

  • Demonstrated experience in a Project Management role, ideally on previous Defence Maritime projects, that are heavily engineering focussed.
  • International project delivery experience, preferably within the Defence environment.
  • Proven experience with UK and International Defence contracting terms and conditions.
  • Qualification in Project Management from a reputable association.
  • Previous experience of commercially sensitive projects and the security aspects this entails.
  • Experience of delivering in service / contractor logistic support services within a naval maritime environment would be advantageous.
  • Awareness of working to maritime, defence standards and international quality & safety standards would be advantageous.
  • Full clean driving licence.
  • Would hold or be able to obtain security level clearance.
  • You will need to be able to pass security clearance for this role and also have the right to work and reside in the UK.

You will need to have a flexible approach to this position although it will be based at JFD Westhill, on occasion international travel may be required.
