Summary of the work
Project requirement is to deliver software functionality enhancements to an existing application used by HM Forces to plan and authorise adventurous training, in accordance with the Product Owners priorities. The successful applicant will provide the TEST function for this work.

About the work
Who the specialist will work with
The likely team will consist of the following: Product Owner, Senior User, Scrum Practitioner, In-Service Manager, Developer. On a daily basis, the successful applicant is likely to work in team of 2-3.
What the specialist will work on
To write & execute automation test scripts using C++/Selenium / Canopy/F#/ Spec flow against Oracle Applications. To carry out installation, configuration, integration and migration of the Oracle Application To write and maintain User Stories, Acceptance Criteria, Tasks and other project documentation to write detailed automation scripts. To participate in user requirement workshops to define acceptance criteria for user stories. To participate in sprint planning meetings to provide estimates for testing activity and to attend other Scrum ceremonies as required. To work as part of a cross-functional team participating in activities such as update of User Guides and other documentation as required.

Working arrangements
An Agile methodology will be adopted therefore on site for 5 days a week for the purpose of daily stand-ups is essential. No expenses will be met. Army Headquarters' standard working day is 7.5 hours between 08:30 hrs and 17:30 hrs. Individuals are expected to comply with Army Headquarters' working practices.
Security clearance SC-level clearance is required for this post.
Skills and experience
Essential skills and experience
- Extensive experience of C#/ or Canopy/F#/Specflow, against Oracle applications.
- Competency and proven ability in the use of TFS Test Manager or HP ALM to maintain test suites, execution of tests and defect tracking.
- Competency and proven ability in executing test scripts/scenarios, as well as complex installation guides.
- Excellent communication and co-ordination skills.
- Demonstrable ability to develop and maintain clear and concise documentation to a high professional standard.
- To write and execute tests scripts/scenarios focusing on the production of regression tests and smoke scripts for the migrated applications.
- To provide advice and guidance to project teams on Agile software testing.
- To review all project documentation and to provide test effort required to deploy each application.
- Working in collaboration with the development team and Delivery Manager.
- To produce Test Reports and Release Notes against IAS's Test Templates.
Nice-to-have skills and experience
- Agile qualification e.g. Agile Certified Tester.
- Experience in scoping the types of testing and effort required to deploy each application.
- Automation scripting using VBScripts / UFT.
