We have an incredible opportunity to join our Employee Relations and Colleague Wellbeing team as an Employee Relations Advisor, supporting Organisational Design activity. 

Job Type: Permanent 

Location: Hybrid with travel to our core offices as needed, mainly Edinburgh and Telford, possibly Birmingham

The role  

As an Employee Relations Advisor you'll be a trusted advisor providing expert advice and guidance to stakeholders across all stages of the organisational design journey. You'll offer commercially focused, risk-based guidance that aligns with our policy positions, legislation and best practice. 

  • You will coach stakeholders on all aspects of organisational design: including business cases, selection criteria, collective and individual redundancy consultation process through to the OD completion.

  • Coordinating all activity required to support delivery of your aligned OD's, including necessary paperwork to support our people leaders, calculation of severance packages in line with a variety of terms and conditions

  • Work closely with the People leader and our talent acquisition team to proactively seek redeployment possibilities when possible 

  • Work collaboratively with other SME's in the People function such as Reward and Payroll to make sure all necessary actions are completed.

  • Coach our People leaders throughout all stages of the OD Journey, encouraging them to proactively manage colleagues' wellbeing throughout. 

  • Be aware of when assistance is needed for risk- and cost-based options to aid decision-making, ensuring compliance with employment and regulatory law 

You'll partner closely with:


• People Leaders across the business 


• HR Business Partners, and the wider People Leadership Team 

  •    Other HR centres of excellence such as Reward and Talent Acquisition


• External providers including our preferred legal firm and outplacement support provision

What are we looking for?

Essential Experience:

  • Proven expertise in managing Organisational design and restructuring activities
  • Strong working knowledge of UK employment law and its practical application in a commercial environment

  • Familiarity with regulatory frameworks relevant to employment practices

  • Proven ability to interpret and apply employment legislation, case law, and best practice to real-world OD scenarios 

  • A passion for delivering great customer service, every time       

  • Data fluency - Proficient in interpreting and using MI to drive decision-making and continuous improvement

  • Previous experience of working in a Financial Services industry would be desirable but not essential
