Our team

A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a People Operations Team Leader to join the People Services Team within the People Operations team based in Birmingham city centre. This is a hybrid role, with a current requirement of working 3 days on site in the Birmingham Office.

Role and key responsibilities

The role of the People Operations Team Leader will be to drive service excellence and data accuracy within the Onboarding & Admin Hub, ensuring key deliverables are met. Having previous experience working within a HR Service Function, you will have strong experience of HR systems, policy and procedures. You will also provide direct line management to 4-5 People Operations Administrators.

You will be expected to work closely with the other hub team leaders and will need to have an excellent ability to manage relationships and expectations.

You will be responsible for a variety of People Operations Team Leader activities which will include and not limited to:

  • Direct line management of 4-5 People Operations Administrators
  • Working collaboratively with all People Operations Team Leaders within the People Services team
  • Become the subject matter expert in the Onboarding & Admin hub and represent the team
  • Oversee and monitor the internal ticketing system, ensuring high priority tickets are actioned in a timely manner
  • Delegating tasks to team members and supporting team members with prioritisation
  • Managing the relationship with our employment screening provider matrix security watchdog, ensuring we are working collaboratively
  • Producing weekly reports to support the business and People Management Team
  • Ensuring all tasks are processed in a timely manner and a seamless onboarding experience for our employees
  • Managing projects and overseeing project work that is processed by the team
  • Quality check data entry carried out by the team and providing team members with real time constructive feedback
  • Enhancing current processes to ensure we deliver service excellence
  • Upskilling and coaching team members to deliver a customer centric HR service
  • Investigating escalations and queries as required
  • Responding to queries and requests as required

Skills And Experience
We are looking for:

  • Attention to detail is a key fundamental part of this role, with the ability to prioritise and manage high volumes of work, maintain quality and accuracy and provide excellent service delivery
  • Ability to manage own time effectively
  • Ability to work at pace
  • Able to put the employee experience at the heart of all tasks
  • Fantastic organisational skills and ability to multi-task
  • Proactive, willing to challenge and have the confidence to identify and recommend changes and improvements
  • Experience of working in a fast paced team, ideally globally and in a HR Service Centre environment
  • Sound experience of working within a team handling a high volume of work
  • Excellent communication skills, including high quality of written English
  • Ability to think on your feet and look for solutions to challenges
  • An understanding of HR Service Function is a distinct advantage
  • Experience of working at team leader/supervisor level is a distinct advantage
  • Experience in using Onboarding systems/integrated modules is a distinct advantage
  • Experience in managing employment screening process in a regulated environment is a distinct advantage
  • Good stakeholder management experience
  • Good working knowledge of Word and Excel
