Investment Solutions - Equity Sales Trading

Assist on providing high exotic equity derivatives counterparty service to internal/external clients, quoting clients and other desks requests and carrying out the necessary hedging from this activity. Focus on the development of tailor-made equity derivatives solutions, and their required risk valuation models, adapted to clients' needs.

About the job:

• Give counterparty service in EQ new products & exotics derivatives to client's requests submitted by the Sales team, collaborating closely in offering tailor-made EQ exotics derivatives adapted to clients' needs. Quote pricing requests, focusing on increasing the flow of equity orders by promoting excellence in the trading services offered to the clients.
• Perform dynamic and aggregate hedging of his/ her own market positions. Focus on breaking and covering risks (delta, interest rate, currency, volatility, etc.) in coordination with other trading desks. Maintain the risks within the acceptable/ allowed risk limits.
• Support other Equity Trading desks in covering their trading books' risks, promoting the generation of synergies in the global Equity hedging strategy.
• Monitor the market continuously, being in permanent contact with other market participants/ counterparties. Focus on adjusting and updating the trading parameters of his/ her valuating models to the market correlation levels and corporate events.
• Register all trades/ transactions in BBVA internal applications. Assist middle and back office in the transactions' settlement, in order to minimize operational risk and/ or solve incidences. Verify the orders' compliance and control in case of contingency, system failure and incidences.
• Carry out the daily closing processes, analyzing the position risk curve, explaining the results obtained and verifying that the positions are correctly informed in the internal systems.
• Update the EQ new products & exotics parameters databases to be used by all Global Market traders in pricing. Collaborate with other Equity Trading desks in updating the interest rate trading handbook, framework and pricing rules documentation.
• Collaborate with the Structuring teams to develop and structure EQ derivatives products tailored to clients' needs.
• Promote the development of new valuation models together with Quants, supporting them in presenting and requesting the model approval to the Risk unit. Focus on calibrating and understanding the model performance.
• Comply with both internal and external operational policies, procedures and regulatory requirements.
• Generate recurrent income based on the trading activity, complying with the hit/ miss target set for the trading book under his/ her responsibility.

Qualifications:

• Academic background in Engineering or equivalent.
• Strong mathematical and quantitative skills.
• Advanced knowledge of programming.
• Fluent in English / Good or excellent Spanish.
