About the role

In this pivotal role, you'll own and drive the roadmap for our Customer Data Mastering Solution, ensuring it delivers tangible business value and aligns with our strategic goals. Collaborating across business and IT functions, you'll be responsible for identifying and prioritising enhancements, championing best practices, and leading initiatives that optimise the quality, governance, and usability of customer data across the enterprise.

As Product Owner for Customer Data Mastering, you'll own NFU Mutual's Customer Data Mastering capability, ensuring its successful delivery, ongoing performance, and continuous improvement.

You'll act as a key subject matter expert, providing direction and guidance to major change programmes on how best to leverage and protect customer data while maintaining its integrity and alignment with our strategic vision. Working collaboratively with stakeholders across the organisation, you'll shape and manage the backlog of change and enhancement activity, ensuring prioritisation aligns with business goals and delivers measurable outcomes.

You'll be instrumental in embedding effective processes, driving data governance alignment, and influencing decisions that maximise the value of customer data across the enterprise. Alongside this, you'll lead the development and monitoring of performance metrics that measure the efficiency and effectiveness of our data mastering solutions, using insights to identify opportunities for further improvement. You'll also play a key role in delivering customer data improvement initiatives, supporting innovation through proof-of-concept activities, and ensuring NFU Mutual remains at the forefront of Customer Data Mastering best practice.

About you

You're an experienced Product Owner and recognised expert in Customer Data Mastering, passionate about using data as a strategic asset. You're comfortable working across complex, matrixed environments and skilled at balancing technical insight with business priorities.

You'll bring:
  • Proven experience as a Product Owner in a large, cross-functional organisation.
  • Significant experience with Customer Data Mastering solutions (e.g. IBM MDM or equivalent) within insurance, financial services, or other regulated sectors.
  • Deep knowledge of Master Data Management principles, including data modelling, data analysis, and governance.
  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to influence at senior levels.
  • Commercial awareness and experience managing budgets and vendor relationships.
  • A proactive, analytical mindset and the ability to navigate ambiguity to deliver clarity and progress.
