We're searching for a confident and charismatic Weekend Host to be the face of The Old Queen's Head – a beloved pub on Essex Road known for its buzzing atmosphere, delicious roasts, and legendary weekend parties. This role is all about personality. You'll be the first face our guests see when they arrive, the one they remember when they leave, and the friendly presence they look forward to seeing again. You'll recognise our regulars, welcome new faces like old friends, and bring warmth and energy to every shift.

What you'll be doing:

  • Taking charge of our bookings and floor plan during our Sunday lunch service – this is one of our busiest days of the week.
  • Greeting and seating guests with warmth and efficiency.
  • Managing last-minute walk-ins and keeping a calm head in a fast-moving environment.

Who we're looking for:

  • Someone with a big personality, a natural host who thrives on making people feel welcome.
  • Experience using OpenTable is essential – you'll be in control of reservations and guest flow on Sundays.
  • Calm, professional and friendly under pressure.

    A great communicator who can work closely with the FOH team, kitchen and management.

What to Expect:

  • Competitive Pay: £12.50 per hour plus tronc (total package usually in the range of £13-16 per hour). Hourly wages paid every two weeks on a Friday and tronc paid on the last Friday of the month.

The Old Queens Head is London's finest pub.
