The Director for Market Intelligence will lead the discovery, analysis, and synthesis of external and internal data to inform strategic and product decisions across LEGO Digital Play. This role combines market analytics, technical acumen, and organizational leadership to translate complex signals—player behavior, competitive shifts, and emerging technologies—into actionable insights. The director will shape the systems, tools, and people that power a unified view of the gaming landscape.

The role will report to the VP, Head of Strategy, serving as a critical leader and pillar within the Strategy team.

Core Responsibilities

  • Market Ecosystem Analysis: Lead comprehensive analyses of the gaming market, including player trends, platform evolution, competitive positioning, and content innovation. Translate findings into strategic insights for executives and product leaders.
  • Data Integration & Insight Generation: Design and oversee pipelines that integrate internal game telemetry, platform data, and external benchmarks to create a single source of truth for market and product performance.
  • Technical & Analytical Leadership: Partner with engineering and data science teams to ensure infrastructure and tooling meet business needs. Build and manage models, dashboards, and forecasting systems that enable self-service insight generation across teams.
  • Mentorship & Capability Building: Develop and mentor analysts and data storytellers. Build a culture of curiosity, clarity, and rigorous interpretation.
  • Narrative Development: Translate quantitative insights into crisp, executive-ready narratives that influence investment and product direction.
  • Cross-Functional Influence: Drive alignment between strategy, product, and research through integrated insight frameworks and regular synthesis updates.

Key Partnerships

  • Market Research & Behavioral Science: Collaborate with researchers to explore player motivations, engagement drivers, and unmet needs; merge qualitative and quantitative findings into cohesive stories.
  • Product Management & Design Teams: Provide operating data and performance context to inform roadmap priorities and live operations.
  • Engineering & Data Infrastructure: Partner on the design of scalable data systems and analytical tools.
  • Executive Decision Makers: Deliver timely perspectives on market evolution, player ecosystems, and emerging opportunities.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree, MBA preferred
  • Experience in market intelligence, data analytics, or strategic insights, preferably within gaming, digital entertainment, or consumer technology.
  • Proven experience building and leading teams that blend technical and strategic skill sets.
  • Strong understanding of modern data architectures (SQL, Python, visualization platforms, APIs).
  • Ability to translate behavioral data and market signals into clear, actionable recommendations.
  • Exceptional communication and storytelling skills, capable of influencing both technical and creative stakeholders.
  • Passion for games, player experiences, and the evolving digital play ecosystem.
