Wallace & Howe is a leading manufacturer of high quality upholstered furniture. Due to our continued growth and take over of another upholstery company, we are seeking another skilled Upholstery Machinist to join our dynamic team. If you are flexible and can undertake cutting tasks, this would be a great advantage but not essential. If you have a passion for detail and a strong understanding of upholstery techniques, we want to hear from you
Key Responsibilities
- Operating industrial sewing machines to stitch and assemble upholstrey materials (fabric, leather, etc)
- Ensuring accuracy in measurements and cuts for a perfect fit
- Reading and interpreting design specifications and technical drawings
- Working closely with the upholstery team to produce bespoke, high quality furniture
- Inspecting finished products to ensure they meet the company's quality standards
- Maintaining a clean and safe work environment
- Ability to create, read and follow patterns.
Skills and Experience Required
- Proven expereience as an upholstery machinist or in a similar sewing related role
- Proficient in the use of industrial sewing machines
- Ability to work with a range of upholstery materials (fabric, leather, vinyl)
- Strong attention to detail and precision in sewing and assembling
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Desirable
- Experience in furniture manufacturing or upholstery design
- Ability to troubleshoot and repair sewing machines
- Knowledge of upholstrey techniques
- Ability to cut different materials (leather, fabric etc) and understand their characteristics

Hours of work (we can be flexible)
Monday 7am -4:00pm
Tuesday 7am -4:00pm
Wednesday 7am -4:00pm
Thursday 7am -4:00pm
Friday 7am -12:00pm
Overtime as and when required.
Must be hard working and reliable.
