Group HSE Manager

Based in Manchester

£60,000 per annum - £65,000 per annum + Car Allowance, £6500 per annum + Bonus 15%

Sites;

  • 3 small but fast paced manufacturing sites across the UK, well established in regards to health, safety and environment with buy in from the top.

Overview;

  • To evolve HSE for the company, building on what is already in place – strengthening their defences and ensuring they are future fit.
  • To build momentum for safety and take them on a cultural journey towards a more proactive state.
  • A hands- on and strategic, pragmatic leader is required, who can educate, empower and continue to drive accountability downwards. Giving each site the ability to confidently lead HSE
  • Take the group strategy and help develop this with Group Director and present to the board
  • Build strong and trusted relationships with all General Managers on site; across the departments at all sites to be an approachable and visible leader
  • Personal skill set is important, to lead with gravitas, be dynamic in their approach, credible and able to influence at all levels
  • Deep dive when investigating accidents to get to root cause, strengthen their defences and put actions in place to reduce future risk
  • Interesting projects to future proof the organisation

Qualifications and background;

  • Ideally NEBOSH Diploma, or equivalent (NVQ Level 5/6, NCRQ, IOSH Level 6)
  • Will consider proven leaders with NEBOSH Certificate ('or equivalent such as IOSH level 3)
  • Fast moving manufacturing experience
  • Multi site experience or big single site, complex production processes

  • Able to engage with gravitas, share learned experience
  • Empower all levels of workforce, from the factory floor all the way up to stakeholder/ Director level
  • Visible and approachable leader who is credible
