Assistant Service Manager Band 6 General Surgery

This is an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic, hard-working candidate to work closely with the General Surgery Service Manager within the Surgery Division covering a secondment for 12 months.

Main duties of the job

You will be responsible for ensuring the efficient and effective delivery of patient care. The post-holder will be expected to identify and implement initiatives to improve services, with delegated responsibility from the Service Manager, and lead designated projects to ensure key performance targets (clinical, operational and financial) are met.

The post holder will manage the Patient Pathway Coordinators and Assistants. The post holder will work closely with the Clinical and Nursing Leads to ensure a high standard of patient care is delivered within the Directorate.

This post includes cross site working with the expectation that the hours will be worked flexibly over 5 days to support the POD teams from the hours of
