Overview

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Tile Setter to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in construction and be proficient in working with various types of tiles. As a Tile Setter, you will be responsible for installing tiles in residential and commercial settings, ensuring high-quality workmanship and adherence to design specifications.

Responsibilities

  • Measure and cut tiles to fit specific areas using hand tools and power tools.
  • Prepare surfaces for tile installation by cleaning, smoothing, and applying adhesives as necessary.
  • Lay out tile patterns according to schematics or design plans, ensuring proper alignment and spacing.
  • Install tiles on floors, walls, and other surfaces, ensuring a secure fit and finish.
  • Grout and seal tiles after installation, maintaining quality standards for durability and aesthetics.
  • Collaborate with carpenters and other tradespeople to ensure seamless integration of tile work with other construction elements.
  • Maintain a clean and organised work environment, adhering to safety protocols at all times.

Requirements

  • Proven experience as a Tile Setter or in a similar role within the construction industry.
  • Proficiency in using hand tools and power tools relevant to tile installation.
  • Strong understanding of building materials and techniques, including painting skills as an added advantage.
  • Ability to read and interpret schematics or design plans accurately.
  • Excellent attention to detail with a focus on delivering high-quality workmanship.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
  • Physical stamina to perform manual tasks for extended periods while adhering to safety guidelines.
