We are seeking a qualified and experienced
Commercial Gas Engineer
to join our expanding
mechanical and building services maintenance team
. This position offers excellent long-term opportunities for a skilled
Gas Safe registered engineer
who has experience working in
commercial buildings
,
schools
,
hospitals
,
retail sites
, or
office facilities
across
South London and Surrey
.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out
installation, service, repair, and maintenance
of
commercial gas appliances
,
boilers
,
heating systems
, and
hot and cold water systems
. - Perform
reactive maintenance
,
fault finding
, and
diagnostic work
on
commercial and domestic gas systems
. - Complete
planned preventative maintenance (PPM)
tasks on heating and mechanical plant. - Work on
plant rooms
,
pressurisation units
,
boiler controls
,
valves
,
pipework
, and
gas safety systems
. - Participate in the
24/7 call-out rota
and provide
emergency response
when required. - Ensure compliance with
Gas Safe
,
HSE regulations
,
manufacturer standards
, and
company procedures
. - Liaise effectively with
clients
,
site managers
, and
facilities teams
to deliver a high level of
customer satisfaction
. - Complete
electronic service records
,
compliance certificates
, and
maintenance documentation
via
smart devices / CAFM systems
.
Essential Qualifications & Skills
- NVQ Level 2/3
in Mechanical Engineering, Heating & Ventilation, or equivalent. - Current
Commercial and Domestic Gas Qualifications
: - CCN1, CODNCO1, CIGA1, CDGA1, CENWAT, TPCP1, CKR1, HTR1, CORT1.
- Proven experience as a
Commercial Gas Engineer
,
Gas Service Engineer
,
HVAC Engineer
, or
Building Services Engineer
within
facilities management
or
maintenance
sectors. - Strong technical skills in
boiler diagnostics
,
plant maintenance
,
gas testing
, and
system commissioning
. - Excellent
communication
,
time management
, and
customer service
abilities. - Confident using
mobile technology
,
digital job management tools
, and
electronic reporting systems
. - Full, clean
UK Driving Licence
.
Desirable / Preferred
- Oil (OFT10-101)
and
LPG (CONGLP1PD)
qualifications. - Unvented hot water (G3)
certification and
electrical safety awareness
. - Experience working on
commercial HVAC systems
,
mechanical plant
,
air handling units (AHUs)
, and
boiler plant
. - Background in
facilities maintenance
,
property services
,
building engineering
, or
FM companies
.
