This is a full-time Band 6 Specialist Occupational therapist developmental post with a scope to progress to Band 7 Senior Occupational therapist in 18 months
The successful candidate will independently manage a caseload of people with learning disabilities. They will maintain a high standard of clinical work and offer a person-centred approach to client assessment and intervention by using appropriate treatment procedures and following established standards.
They might also be expected to take part or initiate appropriate quality measures, research or clinical studies that can improve the service and the experience of the service users. They will be expected to work collaboratively with the multidisciplinary team, service users, carers, and other local services.
The post holder will also supervise student placements and other relevant trainees in the team and also where appropriate supervise apprentices.
The post holder also is required to deliver formal and informal training to staff and carers and participate in regular team meetings. They will be flexible, have excellent written and verbal communication skills and be able to reflect on their own practice.
