Creative Website Designer
About Us
We're a multi-award-winning digital agency, delivering outstanding websites, SEO, and PPC solutions to clients for over 25 years. Our success is built on creativity, technical excellence, and a genuine focus on driving measurable results.
We're now looking for a Creative Website Designer with proven experience in WordPress, UX/UI, and conversion-led design to join our growing digital team. You'll be part of a collaborative, forward-thinking environment where ideas, new technologies, and AI-assisted design are driving how we deliver exceptional work for our clients.
The Role of the Creative Website Designer
You'll take ownership of end-to-end website design projects, crafting intuitive, visually engaging, and high-performing user experiences. Working closely with developers, account managers, and strategists, you'll help bring ideas to life across a range of client sectors.
The role focuses on WordPress, with exposure to Shopify and other eCommerce platforms. We're looking for someone who combines creative craft with strong technical understanding, commercial focus, and curiosity for new tools and practices.
Key Responsibilities for the Creative Website Designer
- Design and deliver high-quality websites and eCommerce experiences across WordPress and Shopify.
- Create intuitive, conversion-focused user journeys informed by UX research and analytics.
- Develop wireframes, mock-ups, and final page designs using Adobe Creative Suite (XD, Photoshop, Illustrator).
- Build and maintain design systems and reusable components to ensure consistency across projects.
- Collaborate with developers to ensure design integrity, accessibility (WCAG), and performance optimisation.
- Apply SEO best practices throughout design structure and content layout.
- Collaborate with internal marketing teams on SEO and Content implementation.
- Use AI tools to enhance ideation, content creation, testing, and design efficiency.
- Analyse performance data and user behavior to drive iterative design improvements.
- Present concepts and rationale confidently to clients and internal teams.
- Stay ahead of emerging design trends, technologies, and AI-driven workflows.
- Contribute to improving design processes and mentor junior team members where appropriate.
What We're Looking For
- 5+ years' website design experience, ideally within an agency environment.
- Proven track record delivering WordPress and eCommerce (Shopify or WooCommerce) projects.
- Deep understanding of UX principles, conversion optimisation, and user journey design.
- Expertise in Adobe Creative Suite — particularly XD, Photoshop, and Illustrator.
- Working knowledge of HTML/CSS and the design-to-development process.
- Strong grasp of SEO fundamentals and how design impacts performance.
- Confident using or exploring AI and automation tools to improve workflow and creativity.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
- Organised, proactive, and able to manage multiple projects independently.
Why join MRS?
We're not like most agencies – and we don't want to be.
We care about the work, but we care about our people more. You'll be part of a genuinely supportive, close-knit team with the freedom to do your best work and the recognition when you do. We're collaborative, ambitious and proud to say that most of our best ideas come from the team – not the top.
Our beautiful leafy office in Fleet (with its own garden and pond) is a far cry from grey open-plan boxes, and while we support hybrid working, we still enjoy time together in the office – sharing knowledge, solving problems and doing great work in good company.
Join a multi-award-winning agency with 25 years of success and a growing digital offering.
Work on exciting, high-profile digital projects for national and international brands.
Collaborate with talented developers, strategists, and creatives who value innovation and results.
Use the latest tools and AI-driven methods to work smarter and push creative boundaries.
Competitive salary, flexible working, and clear opportunities for career progression
