Senior CPU Core Performance Modelling Architect

The Role:

This member of the Core Performance Architecture Modelling team will contribute using their experience with CPU microarchitecture development, performance modelling, and analysis. They will have opportunities to expand their technical contributions more deeply into CPU microarchitecture performance simulator development, workload and performance analysis, model correlation, and feature definition. The Person:

The ideal candidate for the Cores team will be able to demonstrate success in a comparable technical role on a product team innovating and redefining high-performance computing. They will be comfortable working in a cross-team environment and show creativity and self-motivation in their academic and post-academic career.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Expand your experience with cycle-accurate core microarchitecture performance simulator development, workload and trace analysis, microarchitecture development, RTL vs performance model correlation, and so forth
  • Collaborate with a dedicated team of hardware and software engineers to develop novel features to optimize the performance of CPU microarchitecture
  • Collaborate with teams of designers on broader features and drive methodology improvements.

Preferred Experience:

  • 1+ years of post-graduate professional experience in silicon development
  • C++ programming and scripting language capabilities
  • Computer architecture background through coursework and/or work experience
  • Cycle-accurate microarchitecture performance simulator development
  • Pre-silicon performance analysis
  • Computing software, including operating systems, compilers, and applications.
  • Demonstrate thought leadership and perseverance with published papers or filed patents that contribute to the industry

Academic Credentials:

  • Masters or PhD degree in Computer Science, Electrical and Computer Engineering, or Electrical Engineering.
