A Leading Global Bank based in Glasgow is seeking to hire an experienced PowerBI Data Engineer to join there expanding technology focused department.

Job Purpose

The role holder will own the design, development and continuous improvement of a strategic internal platform that consolidates employee and technology communication channel data.

Leveraging Microsoft SQL Server, Power Platform (Power Apps, Power Automate, Power BI) and Python, they will ensure the solution remains high-performing, reliable and aligned with compliance and surveillance requirements across the organisation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain the Record Keeping monitoring tool using Microsoft SQL, Power Apps, Power Automate, Power BI and Python.
  • Design and document APIs for system integration, ensuring data accuracy and completeness.
  • Optimise database schemas, indexes and queries for performance.
  • Automate data ingestion pipelines and enhance data quality controls.
  • Improve UI/UX, strengthen role-based access management, and maintain audit trails.
  • Lead migration of prototype to a robust, scalable BAU-ready application.
  • Manage backlog and prioritise tasks in line with leadership guidance.
  • Deliver training sessions for end-users and technical teams.

Requirements

  • Proficiency in Microsoft SQL, PowerApps, PowerAutomate and PowerBI.
  • Proficiency in Python
  • Solid understanding of data engineering concepts, ETL processes, DataIKU and data integration would be advantageous.
  • Excellent project management skills and ability to manage complex IT projects.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
  • Ability to partner with stakeholders and drive projects without hierarchical authority.
  • Strong communication and relationship management skills across regions.
