Job Title: Hotel Receptionist
The Hotel Receptionist is the first point of contact for guests, providing a warm welcome and ensuring a seamless check-in and check-out experience. This role requires excellent customer service skills, attention to detail, and the ability to handle guest inquiries efficiently.
Key responsibilities include managing reservations, handling guest requests and complaints professionally, processing payments, and providing information about hotel services and local attractions. The Hotel Receptionist will also collaborate with housekeeping and other departments to ensure a smooth and enjoyable stay for guests.
This position is ideal for someone with strong communication skills, a friendly and professional demeanour, and a passion for delivering outstanding hospitality.
Responsibilities:
·Greet and welcome guests in a friendly and professional manner.
·Assist guests with check-in and check-out processes.
·Provide information about hotel facilities, services, and local attractions.
·Handle reservations, cancellations, and modifications efficiently.
·Ensure accuracy in guest information and payment details.
·Collaborate with other hotel departments to coordinate special requests.
·Answer phone calls and respond to inquiries promptly and courteously.
·Handle guest complaints and concerns with empathy and a proactive approach.
·Communicate effectively with other hotel staff to ensure seamless guest experiences.
·Maintain an organized front desk area, including handling and filing paperwork.
·Update and manage guest records using the hotel management system.
·Assist in preparing daily reports and completing administrative tasks.
·Adhere to all statutory requirements regarding, fire, security, food safety, health & safety and hygiene.
·Be fully conversant with fire procedures; Company Security procedures; Health and Safety policy and procedures; Hotel & restaurant Facilities and attractions; Standards of operation and departmental procedures; Methods of accepted payment of the company; Short- and long-term company marketing promotions.
·Participate in cross/multi-skilled training within your department or other departments as deemed appropriate by your manager.Be responsible for identifying own training needs and communicating them to your manager.
·Always deal with all internal and external customers in a professional and courteous manner.
·Maintain a high level of dress, personal hygiene and appearance always adhering to company guidelines.
·Maintain high levels of housekeeping in your department.
·Uphold and maintain all standards in line with your department's standard operating procedures.
·From time to time, you may be required to carry out duties outside the normal sphere of work as may be reasonable requested by Management.
·All roles, excluding dedicated night roles, will be required to cover night shifts on rotation with reasonable notice.
·During busy periods, team members may assist in The Parlour, including welcoming guests, greeting, and taking orders.
Requirements:
·Previous experience in a customer service role, preferably in a hotel or hospitality setting.
·Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
·Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
·Proficient computer skills, including knowledge of hotel management software.
·Ability to handle stressful situations with calmness and professionalism.
·Attention to detail and a proactive attitude.
·The role requires flexible working hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
·Fast-paced and dynamic environment with continuous guest interactions.
