About The Role
This is an exciting opportunity for the post for a Social Worker in the Fostering Team and you will be a part of Corporate Parenting and safeguarding. The role is for a fixed term contract of 12 months.
About The Team You'll Be Working In
The primary focus of the role will be recruiting, assessing, supervising, monitoring and motivating main stream Foster carers, kinship and Private fostering arrangements to meet the requirements of the Fostering Standards and National Minimum Fostering Standards.
Provide guidance, supervision and support to empower our carers to achieve excellent outcomes for children in our care.
To also carry out any other general duties in line with wider fostering team.
About You

Experience of working with children and young people and a comprehensive knowledge of legislation relating to Looked After Children and young people.
Ability to work directly with wider public, Foster carers and young people and able to produce clear evidence based and analytical assessments.
Apply knowledge from a range of theories and models for social work intervention with individuals, families, groups and communities, and the methods derived from them.
Understand legal obligations, structures and behaviours within organisations and how these impact on policy, procedure and practice.
Evidence of continuous professional development.
Demonstrate professionalism in terms of presentation, demeanour, reliability, honesty and respectfulness.
Self motivated and ability to working to deadlines.
Good IT and communication skills with good interpersonal skills and ability to develop a rapport with other professionals and foster carers.
Flexibility to work evenings and occasional weekends, as the role also includes attending recruitment events and home visits outside of office hours.
