Our exceptional Newham school is seeking a highly motivated and results-oriented leader to become our Head of Humanities. You will be responsible for ensuring outstanding outcomes for all students across History, Geography, and RE.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Set high expectations and drive continuous improvement within the Humanities department.
  • Analyse data and implement strategies to maximize student progress.
  • Lead the development and implementation of effective assessment practices.
  • Line manage and support the professional growth of Humanities teachers.
  • Ensure the department adheres to school policies and procedures.
  • Contribute to the school's self-evaluation and improvement planning.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
  • Degree in a Humanities subject (History, Geography, RE, or related).
  • Significant and successful experience teaching within the Humanities at secondary level, with proven leadership outcomes.
  • Strong understanding of data analysis and target setting.
  • Excellent organizational, strategic planning, and implementation skills.
  • A commitment to excellence and raising standards.
