Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Consultant Psychiatrist to join our mental health team. The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience in psychiatric evaluation, diagnosis, and treatment across diverse populations, including pediatric, adult, and geriatric patients. This role involves providing expert psychiatric care through inpatient and outpatient settings, utilizing evidence-based practices such as psychopharmacology, psychotherapy, and crisis management. The Consultant Psychiatrist will play a vital role in delivering comprehensive mental health services, ensuring patient safety, and maintaining compliance with healthcare regulations including HIPAA. Experience with telehealth platforms and working with individuals with developmental disabilities or PTSD is highly desirable. Responsibilities

  • Conduct thorough psychiatric assessments and diagnostic evaluations for patients across various age groups, including pediatrics and geriatrics.
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans incorporating medication management, psychotherapy (psychodynamic therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy), and behavioral health interventions.
  • Provide inpatient and outpatient psychiatric care, ensuring effective patient monitoring and follow-up.
  • Manage complex cases involving trauma, PTSD, addiction, or developmental disabilities with appropriate crisis management strategies.
  • Utilize telehealth technology to deliver remote psychiatric consultations when applicable.
  • Document all patient interactions accurately in medical records adhering to HIPAA regulations and medical documentation standards.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to coordinate comprehensive patient care and facilitate data collection for ongoing treatment evaluation.
  • Stay current with advancements in psychiatry, psychopharmacology, and behavioral health practices to ensure the highest quality of care.
  • Participate in training sessions, supervision, or post-residency programs to maintain professional development.

Requirements

  • Medical degree (MD or DO) with board certification or eligibility in Psychiatry.
  • Valid medical license to practice psychiatry in the respective state or region.
  • Extensive post-residency experience in psychiatric settings such as hospitals, clinics, or outpatient facilities.
  • Proven expertise in pediatric psychiatry, Geriatrics, inpatient/outpatient care, and behavioral health modalities.
  • Proficiency in psychopharmacology, psychotherapy techniques (including psychodynamic therapy), cognitive behavioral therapy, and crisis management.
  • Experience working with diverse populations including children with developmental disabilities or trauma-related conditions such as PTSD.
  • Strong knowledge of medical terminology, mental health assessment tools, diagnostic evaluation procedures, and medical records management.
  • Familiarity with HIPAA compliance standards and secure medical documentation practices.
  • Excellent patient care skills combined with the ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary teams.

Pay: £105.00-£110.00 per hour
