Investigation and Enforcement Services (IES) directorate aims to deliver and promote a range of investigation and enforcement activities, both civil and criminal in nature, to support fair and open markets. We do this by effectively enforcing the statutory company and insolvency regimes, maintaining public confidence in those regimes, and reducing the harm caused to victims of fraudulent activity and to the business community. The Role sits within the Intelligence team which is located within the (IES) division of the Insolvency Service.
Job descriptionThe successful applicants will have primary responsibility for building and dissemination Intelligence to meet the needs of internal and external stakeholders.
The posts are within the ECCT (Economic Crime and Corporate Transparency Team) and The AMLI (Anti-Money Laundering Team): The roles will provide support to new work across all of the key Intelligence areas.
Responsibilities:
- assessing, handling & disseminating intelligence from various sources
- managing databases and providing guidance to colleagues
- handle & disseminate intelligence with the appropriate handling guidelines
- improving intelligence processing across the agency
- building relationships with internal and external partners
- working proactively to help build an internal intelligence culture
- support recruitment and procurement processes
The successful candidate will:
- have substantial training or experience in Intelligence handling and dissemination and/or Insolvency matters
- have an ability to deliver results proactively and independently
- be a self-starter and be able to gather information from multiple sources
- have an inquisitive mind and be able to assimilate complex information
- have a keen eye for detail to ensure accuracy of information
- be able to confidently communicate with colleagues at all levels of seniority both internally and externally
- have a proven ability to work with key stakeholders to lead change and deliver positive outcomes
- have good IT skills, particularly in the use of MS Office applications (Outlook, Word, and Excel)
- work to achieve team goals and targets
- work to deliver agreed outcomes
- be able to work within tight deadlines
- have excellent organisation skills and ability to prioritise tasks

Essential Criteria:
- The successful candidate must be capable of obtaining and maintaining SC Security Clearance
This vacancy is advertised across 11 locations; however, Stratford and Croydon are only available to current Insolvency Service Staff. The advertised salary includes London weighting, which is only applicable to internal candidates.

Only those who meet the essential criteria at this stage will proceed to a full assessment of their application. Online Test Guidance
Before submission of your application you will be invited to complete a Civil Service Verbal Test and a Civil Service Numerical Test.
Please complete the online tests as soon as possible (within 24-48 hours is recommended), the closing date for the tests is 23:55 on 15 December 2025. If you fail to complete the online tests before the deadline your application will be withdrawn. Guidance for the tests will be available when you are invited to take the tests. The tests are administered online and accessed via the CS Jobs website.
Our online test supplier will be performing scheduled maintenance between 4:00pm and 7:00pm on 14th December 2025. There will be up to 1 hour during this time where candidates will not be able to access tests.
All online tests will be affected.
Impact for candidates
Candidates who are taking a test when the downtime starts will have their test paused. They will be able to pick up where they left off after the downtime. They can do this by accessing the test again from their application centre.
Candidates will not be able to launch new tests during the downtime.
Candidates reporting issues should be advised to return to take the test after 7:00pm on 14th December 2025.

Hybrid Working
Insolvency Service operates a hybrid working policy subject to business need, giving people the flexibility to choose when and where they work and collaborate with others.
Individuals are expected to work from one of the office locations stated in the advert to connect with their colleagues, as required by their role and business team needs. There is flexibility to split the working week, spending a minimum of 60% in the workplace, which includes the office, site visits, court etc.
