About The Role
As an Operations Manager aligned to Cleo's credit products and UK expansion, you will be leading initiatives and collaborating across Product, Legal and Compliance, and our Bank and Payments Partners. You'll ensure we can launch, scale, and continuously improve our credit offerings while staying aligned with bank and regulatory requirements. You'll manage external partner relationships, streamline processes, and drive operational excellence across multiple work streams in a fast-paced, highly autonomous environment.
Some Of The Things You'll Get Involved With
- Act as the primary operational bridge between Product, Legal, Compliance, Fraud, Risk, and external partners. Build a deep understanding of the card and other new products and think ahead to the impact on bank and operational workflows.
- Manage day-to-day interactions with the partner bank and third-party providers, maintaining strong relationships across external partners and fostering strategic collaboration for long term growth
- Develop scalable operational processes for new credit products and monitor reporting to identify trends and anomalies, and create action plans to address identified issues.
- Lead end-to-end operational program management, partnering closely with product teams to deliver change requests, provide required documentation, and drive timely decision-making and approvals.
- Support expansion into new markets starting with the UK by planning and coordinating operational requirements, partnering with Legal and Compliance on complaints and regulatory obligations, and creating playbooks to ensure scalable, repeatable processes.
What are we looking for?
- You have 4+ years of experience in program management, operations, payments, banking, card programs, or a similar role (fintech or startup experience is a strong plus)
- You are an excellent communicator who can frame problems clearly, tailor messages to different audiences, and manage communication with external partners
- You are detail oriented and good with numbers. You're able to analyze data, detect risks, and present clear narratives.
- You have experience running complex, multi-stakeholder initiatives end-to-end, including planning, prioritisation, and keeping parallel workstreams moving.
- You proactively identify risks, improve processes, and implement practical solutions that balance speed with control.
- You're organised, detail-oriented, and confident managing approvals, documentation, and reporting in regulated environments.
- You're comfortable operating with ambiguity, thrive in a fast paced environment, and are able to adapt as priorities shift.
Nice to haves
- Experience working with partner banks or regulated financial institutions, comfortable navigating and challenging varying risk appetites.
- Experience with card programs, lending products, or payments (e.g., debit cards, credit cards, BNPL, loans, etc.).
- Experience with complaints management or regulatory operations in financial services.
What do you get for all your hard work?
- A competitive compensation package (base + equity) with reviews every 6 months.
- Work at one of the fastest-growing tech startups, backed by top VC firms like Sofina, Balderton & EQT Ventures.
- A clear progression plan. We want you to keep growing. That means trying new things, leading others, challenging the status quo and owning your impact. Always with our complete support.
- Flexibility: We treat you as humans first, employees second. Because we can't fight for the world's financial health, if we're not healthy ourselves. This means all the usual perks but it also means flexibility. We take pride in being a flexible workplace that trusts our Cleople to deliver their best work, giving you the autonomy to structure your day around morning drop-offs to school or daily dog walks.
- Hybrid-first: Join our hybrid-first team, where we blend the best of both remote and in-office work. We expect our team members to be in our London office 1-3 times a week. On Wednesdays, we buy you lunch but you can come to the office on whichever days work best for you
