Job Overview

We are seeking a highly organised and proactive Transport Planner to join our logistics team. The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating and optimising transportation routes, ensuring timely deliveries, and maintaining efficient supply chain operations. This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals with strong management, communication, and organisational skills to contribute to the smooth running of our logistics network. The position is paid and suitable for candidates with a passion for logistics and supply chain management.

Duties

  • Develop, implement, and optimise transportation routes to ensure efficient delivery schedules
  • Working with customers/suppliers/drivers, planning routes and in-house customer service desks to ensure the smooth running of the operation
  • Coordinate with drivers, suppliers, and clients to schedule pickups and deliveries
  • Monitor transport operations to ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies
  • Utilise Microsoft Office programmes including Word, Excel, and Outlook to prepare reports, schedules, and correspondence
  • Analyse logistical data to identify areas for improvement in supply chain processes
  • Maintain accurate records of shipments, deliveries, and vehicle maintenance
  • Communicate effectively with internal teams and external partners to resolve any logistical issues promptly
  • Manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment while maintaining high levels of customer service

Qualifications

  • Proven experience in management, logistics or supply chain roles is preferred
  • Strong driving skills with a valid driving licence
  • Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and IT systems relevant to logistics management
  • Good command of English, both written and spoken, with excellent communication skills
  • Demonstrated leadership qualities and the ability to work independently or as part of a team
  • Strong customer service orientation with problem-solving capabilities
  • Computer literacy including familiarity with IT systems used in logistics planning and management
