You'll support residents with daily living activities, promote their independence and dignity, and help create a safe, welcoming environment where everyone feels valued and respected. Whether assisting with personal care, encouraging social engagement, or simply offering a listening ear, your contribution will make a meaningful difference every day.

Responsibilities
As a Care and Support Worker at Longlands Care Home, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality, person-centered care to our residents. You'll support older people and those living with dementia in their daily routines, promoting independence, dignity, and wellbeing. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Assisting with personal care such as washing, dressing, and toileting
  • Supporting residents with mobility and mealtimes
  • Engaging in meaningful activities and social interaction
  • Monitoring and reporting changes in residents' health and wellbeing
  • Working collaboratively with colleagues, families, and healthcare professionals
  • Ensuring a safe, clean, and comfortable environment for all residents

This role is based in our purpose-built facility in Daventry, which includes both long-term residential care and short-term respite care.

This role is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 and therefore subject to an enhanced DBS certificate. It is also a regulated activity and will be subject to an Adults Barred List check. West Northamptonshire Council is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of vulnerable adults and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment.

About
Are you a compassionate, reliable individual who is passionate about making a difference in the lives of older people. You'll be someone who:

  • Has a caring and empathetic nature.
  • Communicates effectively and respectfully.
  • Works well as part of a team and independently.
  • Is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of residents.
  • Has experience in a care setting (preferred but not essential — full training provided).

Is flexible and willing to work shifts, including weekends and bank holidays.
