QM Leisure operates several income generating facilities across the Colleges vibrant 25-acre campus, including a leisure centre, theatre, esports arena, recording studio and facility lettings. Whilst the college's primary goal remains its educational objectives there is an opportunity to increase the income and strengthen its reputation from making available its facilities and activities to the wider community. QM Esports Arena is a state-of-the-art esports and gaming facility offering children's parties, school holiday activities and corporate events. QM Leisure is looking to enhance and extend the current offer, and this provides an exciting opportunity for the post holder to design and implement a new range of services to our clients and wider esports community.

PERSON SPECIFICATION

The ideal applicant for this role is someone looking to gain further experience working in the esports and leisure industry and has previous experience of delivering esports and gaming sessions to a range of clients. You need to enjoy the fast paced and hands on environment the leisure industry demands, whilst representing QM Leisure in a professional manner with a friendly and outgoing approach. The candidate must be available to work weekends, evenings and through school holidays.

Purpose of Job:

To assist with the planning and delivery of esports and gaming activities offered by QM Leisure during evenings, school holidays and weekends. To provide an outstanding customer experience to all clients attending the sessions and stakeholders of QM Leisure.

Accountability to:

Commercial Operations Manager and/or Duty Manager as appropriate

Membership of: Commercial Operations Team

Essential Criteria


• Relevant esports course or other coaching qualification/experience


• The ability to use your own initiative and pay attention to detail


• Excellent communication & interpersonal skills


• Excellent coaching skills & experience of working with children


• Willing to undergo further training where necessary

Desirable:


• Experience of working in a customer-related or Esports-coaching role


• Experience of Esports marketing and developing and managing social media platforms

JOB DESCRIPTION

Key outcomes

To successfully deliver and develop a range of gaming services to the local community. To manage the QM Esports Arena social media platforms in a view to enhancing engagement to develop the brand awareness and reputation of QM Leisure and QM Esports Arena.

Specific Responsibilities:


• To instruct and/or coach esports activity sessions and develop and deliver children's activities and Gaming Parties


• To staff the esports arena; contacting customers prior to their sessions, maintaining tight access control, including collecting payments and acknowledging attendance for bookings, ensuring accuracy of data entry and delivering outstanding customer service


• To assist in clerical and administration duties as and when necessary


• To ensure that policies and procedures are adhered to


• To ensure all health and safety procedures and policies are observed at all times


• To carry out cleaning duties as required


• To demonstrate commitment to ongoing training and education to enable you to assist with the running of esports sessions


• To carry out any other duties requested by the Commercial Operations Manager or Duty Manager
