What's the opportunity?

We have a requirement for an experienced ESG professional to lead the delivery of Ridge's organisational ESG Strategy. This senior level role will particularly suit an individual with an interest in corporate Environmental, Social & Governance (ESG) strategies but also in data collection, analysis and presentation to the leadership team across the business.

This role will offer the successful applicant the opportunity to develop their skills to flourish and progress in a growing organisation at an extremely exciting time. The role will primarily be supporting the Head of Social Value, Head of Net Zero and Chief Financial Officer in both developing, monitoring, analysing and reporting Ridge's ESG performance. As an important member of the team, liaising with internal business unit leads, Partners, team managers and external supplier/auditor contacts, this role will both stimulate and challenge you, and your high level of communication skills and commercial awareness will be beneficial.

It is anticipated the role will require initial and on-going training in areas where knowledge may be limited and you will be fully supported by Ridge in gaining this expertise.

What you need to do to be effective in this role:

  • Leading the annual ESG-related data submissions such as Ecovadis, Novata, UN Global Compact, CDP and more.
  • Co-ordinating with external consultants, including Normative, for auditing and calculation of scope 1, 2 and 3 carbon emissions
  • SWOT assessment & continual review of ESG performance metrics to then drive continuous improvement initiatives across ESG related themes and Ridge's ESG Strategy
  • Collection & co-ordination of monthly environmental reporting from UK offices (including Environmental Champion representatives) across themes including energy, travel, waste and more
  • QA checks and validation of information gathered
  • Providing monthly progress reports and updates
  • Assisting with the preparation of quarterly progress reviews
  • Preparation of quantitive and qualitative data for Ridge's Annual Impact Report
  • Managing energy data to support sustainability & decarbonisation strategies
  • Support and reporting to the team leader
  • Support the continual improvement of our Environmental Management System

The skills and experience you need to have for this role:

  • Assurance & validation skills - understanding the concept and context of environmental information & data and ability to interpret information for strategic development
  • Logical and creative thinking - identify problems within datasets and able to contribute to remedies
  • Information management - awareness of data/information governance, assessment & presentation
  • Communication - ability to translate technical concepts into non-technical language

You Must Possess And Be Able To Evidence

  • Experience in corporate ESG strategies & reporting mechanisms
  • Excellent Excel skills
  • Awareness of Power BI
  • Experience of working in an analytical role
  • Excellent written and oral skills (you will produce robust outputs for the team)
