The opportunity

As a Senior Business Quality Assessor you will undertake client file reviews to demonstrate compliance with systems and controls requirements, including risk management and governance processes. Ensuring that clients are treated fairly and receive good client outcomes wherever possible. Whilst leading and supporting Business Quality Assessors and assisting in their development of knowledge and experience.

This role can be either home-based or hybrid in one of our offices.

Key Responsibilities

  • To lead and support Business Quality Assessors within the team and aid in their development and capabilities, through regular support and learning and the sharing of knowledge and experience.
  • Assessment of advice in accordance with the Regulators and Progeny Policy.
  • Manage the file review and pre-approval processes, ensuring files are reviewed in line with the T&C Scheme and appropriate levels of supervision.
  • Undertake file checks on client cases predominantly in the wealth arena but may be called upon to assist in client reviews across all Progeny businesses.
  • Delivering good client outcome ensuring all cases are bought to an appropriate conclusion in a timely manner.
  • Prepare MI on file checks undertaken, identifying trends and potential areas of risk / non-compliance.
  • Manage compliance and delivery of all remedial action on client files undertaken.
  • Identify weaknesses in business quality submission and recommend solutions to reduce or mitigate risk.
  • Work closely with the T&C Compliance supervisor to ensure any development needs are captured and plans are created where required.
  • Maintain up to date knowledge and understanding of appropriate regulations and internal policies and procedures, including Anti-Money Laundering Regulation, General Data Protection Regulations, FCA Handbook and Progeny's standards of client service and deliverables.
  • Maintain appropriate Continued Professional Development records and supporting evidence.
  • To liaise with Head of Advice Quality to ensure that any agreed change in process is documented and appropriately implemented.
  • Supporting and assisting the Head of Advice Quality with any team development programmes and team assessments as required
  • Any other task as required by the Chief Risk Officer or Compliance Heads of Departments that could be expected as part of the role.

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise

  • Diploma in Financial Planning or equivalent (essential)
  • CeMAP(desirable)
  • Certificate in Long Term Care Insurance (desirable)
  • Certificate in Equity Release (desirable)
  • AF7 (desirable)
  • File checking experience gained within Financial Services/IFA background (essential).
  • Paraplanning or report writing experience (desirable).
  • Experience of interpreting cash flow analysis (desirable).
  • Be familiar with Product Provider websites and on-line systems.
  • Have a good understanding of Regulatory Handbooks and their application.
  • A good understanding of Regulators Suitability rules and papers.
  • A good understanding of Defined Benefit Transfer Regulation.
  • Excellent organisation and communication skills.
  • Ability to apply a consistent, fair and balanced approach to assessments.
  • Ability to maintain high quality records.
  • Be able to manage and prioritise own workload, and work well under pressure.
