Where you come in?

You will work alongside the Specialty Underwriters, with a focus on Contingency, Terrorism and Personal Accident portfolios. Within this role you will be a part of the decision-making process and help define, develop and deliver the underwriting strategy to ensure that profitable business is written. You will bring an understanding of the market and identify new opportunity areas, wordings and legal considerations of a class as well as leveraging existing relationships for Ki.

What you will be doing:

Based on existing class knowledge, you will work with the Underwriting Directors, Portfolio Underwriters and Portfolio Management Team to constantly update underwriting strategies by class. Collaborate with Portfolio Management to focus on areas of the portfolio and review based on distribution partner and market feedback, optimise the commercial lens of the algorithm by giving updates from the market, distribution partners and competitors, develop the revenue strategy with input from the algorithm's appetite to optimise revenue generation and business mix.

Requirements
  • Track record of success in the development and execution of commercially viable strategies, with high standards of delivery in a timely, cost-effective way.
  • Excellent negotiation, communication, and presentation skills to drive revenue and business development opportunities across Ki's distribution network.
  • Strong organisational credentials to help drive a dynamic team to deliver the revenue strategy in a coherent manner.
  • Capable of managing, developing, and profiting from new and existing relationships.
  • A commercial understanding of underwriting. Able to assimilate into strategic discussions around the structuring and management of portfolios.
  • Independence: the ability to manage their own workload and self-motivate to execute targets successfully.
  • Experience of working in the London and Lloyd's insurance markets.
  • Ideally knowledge across more than one class of business
