Do you have tax experience within an accountancy practice?

Due to growth, we have a fantastic opportunity for a motivated and ambitious personal tax professional to join the team in our Sussex office. Happy to consider applications from Semi-Senior or Senior level, previous personal tax experience is essential as is finding the right person to complement our existing team.

The role offers prospects for career development and is a great opportunity to work alongside likeminded professionals to provide a first-class service to our clients in both compliance and advisory areas.

Responsibilities will vary depending on the level of hire but could involve:

  • preparing tax returns for individuals and partnerships
  • preparing ERS and EMI returns
  • preparing forms P11d and PSA calculations
  • dealing with client queries and HMRC enquiries
  • involvement with capital gains tax and inheritance tax
  • advisory work
  • assisting partners with specialist tax consultancy projects
  • potential to get involved in trusts, estates & corporate related consultancy if desired
  • identifying and implementing tax planning opportunities
  • managing own flow of work

About You
We are looking for candidates with the following skills and experience:

  • minimum of 2 years relevant accountancy practice experience
  • qualified ATT, CTA or qualified by experience. Part-qualified candidates considered depending on practical experience.
  • excellent client relationship skills and the ability to nurture existing clients as well as the ability to help develop new business and demonstrate technical breadth akin to your level
  • ability to explain complex tax issues in plain English for all levels of understanding
  • technical proficiency and good IT skills specifically intermediate Excel. Previous experience of CCH is an advantage
  • as the role may require you to travel to client premises it is vital you hold a current driving licence and have your own transport.
