Manufacturing Engineer

The Vacancy
We have a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) Manufacturing Engineer to join our team.

As a Manufacturing Engineer/Advanced Technician, you will play a key role in delivering high-quality engineering solutions, with a focus on NDT processes, namely Digital Radiography and X-ray Computed Tomography. You will support technical projects from concept to delivery, continuously improving manufacturing methods This is a primarily on-site role based at our Coventry facility, with occasional travel to partner sites. Flexibility may be required depending on project needs.

Duties And Responsibilities
As a Manufacturing Engineer/ Advanced Technician you will be responsible for:

• Provide lead-time and cost estimates for job request.
• Maintaining and enacting machine control plans.
• Resolving non-conformance to ensure an in-specification product is delivered to the customer
• Collaborating with customers to optimise designs for inspection to ensure an inspection method is generated in line with quality requirements.
• Continuous improvement of NDT processes to minimise lead-time, cost and non-conformances.
• Develop and coach technicians in Digital Radiography and X-ray Computed Tomography processes.
• Sharing lessons learned and best practices with the engineering teams.
• Producing reports/certificates/documents to an agreed format.
• Conducting root cause analysis and providing detailed reports were necessary for part quality.
• Report inspection results to key stakeholders

Person Specification
Essential Skills/Qualifications/Experience:

• Previous practical experience with operation of Digital Radiography and X-ray Computed Tomography systems is essential.
• Operational knowledge of Digital Radiography and X-ray Computed Tomography processes is essential
• Understanding Digital Radiography and X-ray Computed Tomography principles and applications.
• Ability to work with technical specialist to introduce new processes and control plans for inspection processes.
• Carry out inspection duties to meet programme demand and deliver continuous improvement in product quality.
• Problem Solving: Strong analytical skills and a track record in technical problem solving, including root cause analysis
• Continuous Improvement: Understanding of continuous improvement methodologies and tools to recommend process improvements that improve overall system efficiency.
• Teamwork: Able to work effectively in a collaborative, team-oriented environment with a positive attitude
• Collaboration: Ability to network effectively with a commitment to working collaboratively and recognising the contributions of others, with a "One MTC" mindset throughout project lifecycles.
• Workload Management: Capable of managing own workload within a team
• Hands-On Approach: Pragmatic and willing to physically participate in work completion when required.
• Adaptability: Comfortable with changing priorities with flexibility in approach to accommodate maturing requirements.

• An industrial background with a sound understanding in all major Non-Destructive Testing disciplines with a specific focus on Digital Radiography and X-ray Computed Tomography.

Desirable Skills/Qualifications/Experience:

• A proven track record of continuous improvement and project management.
• Experience creating and developing standard operating procedures and work instruction.
• Understanding of continuous improvement methodologies and tools to recommend process improvements that improve overall system efficiency.
• Experience of developing NDT processes.
