We are seeking a self-motivated, enthusiastic individual to undertake accounting and bookkeeping activities for a rapidly growing digitally enabled advisory firm.

The role requires an individual who is comfortable being flexible and adapting to a changing environment. We are seeking to employ the right person for around 12 hours per week. We can be flexible in agreeing the working hours. Our office is in Maidenhead and it is essential for the individual to come to the office at least once each week to work with the rest of the team.

You will be an experienced accountant/book-keeper confident in all aspects of the role below.

Role

  • Ownership of all aspects of using Xero to manage the financial transactions of the LLP and associated legal entities
  • Monthly accounts preparation using information contained in Xero and in discussion with the LLP members
  • Monthly reconciliation of Xero to underlying bank statements
  • Updating of forecast spreadsheets to manage cashflow requirements
  • Reconcile delivery of project work to contracts
  • Raise invoices as required and maintain track of payment
  • Process expenses, ensure compliance with policies and reconcile in Xero
  • Follow up with LLP members on any outstanding approvals or other items
  • Maintain time management and tracking approach were appropriate
  • Liaise with the independent accountant to ensure information for PAYE, VAT and tax purposes is accessible and accurate
  • Identify and implement improvements to the existing processes

Requirements

  • 12 hours per week with working pattern to be agreed. This may increase in the future subject to needs and appetite
  • Flexible on when and how the hours are delivered within the week so suitable for someone with care responsibilities
  • Additional activity likely to be required around the month end
  • Likely to have some form of bookkeeping or accounting qualification or experience but may not have worked for some time and could have been in many different environments
  • Comfortable with using Xero and spreadsheets
  • Ability to understand (with our explanation) the way in which the LLP is structured and what that means for drawings, profits etc
