Job Summary

To assist with the daily function of the poultry and egg packing operation; including bird welfare checks, the egg production and packing operation and movement of goods around the site. Ensure all equipment are functioning correctly, by carrying out routine maintenance and repair work as required. To manage and maintain the farm site and range area, ensuring all is in a good state of repair.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with the daily duties of the poultry operation; including bird welfare checks, run the egg collection system and end of day hygiene duties.
  • Carry out maintenance on all equipment to ensure they are in good state of repair and operation (including farm vehicles).
  • Assist with the egg packing operation.
  • Use of forklift to move goods around site.
  • Maintain the site, range and range perimeter
  • Pest Control
  • Use of compact tractor for site maintenance work
  • Occasional van deliveries (for holiday cover).

Requirements

  • Proficiency in English, both written and spoken, is essential for effective communication.
  • Previous experience working with poultry is advantageous but not mandatory.
  • Mechanical aptitude with the capability to perform maintenance tasks on equipment.
  • Able to drive and comfortable with a tractor
  • Reliable with a can do attitude
