Warehouse Operative

We are always seeking ways to lessen our footprint and are currently working on a five-year plan to both increase the sustainability of all the packaging we use and make sure all our packaging is easily recyclable. In addition, with every Maldon salt box produced we will be supporting the World Land Trust and the fantastic work they do to protect threatened habitats and wildlife.

To be able to support our growth plans we are recruiting additional Warehouse Operatives to join the Warehouse team at our site in Maldon for a 6-month fixed term period.

About the role:

To operate the warehousing effectively, to ensure product quality is maintained from production through to despatch to customer.

Key internal stakeholders for this position will include Engineering Supports, Unit Leaders, and Manufacturing Manager Finished Goods & Dispatch, who you will regularly communicate with about the progress of work affecting plant performance and other information affecting the activities on site.

Key Responsibilities

• Drive FLT
• Ensure FLT checks are carried out and failures reported.
• Ensure stock rotation is done in compliance with agreed site standards.
• Report all damages.
• Complete pre-loading vehicle inspections
• Ensure vehicle is loaded with out damages.
• Maintain effective communication such as hauliers, line management.
• Follow site escalation procedures in the event of issues, non-compliance, and failures.
• Ensure all personnel visiting area follow site HSE procedures.
• Ensure product is delivered/despatched with correct documentation.
• Take reasonable and practical care of personal health and safety and of others who may be required to implement any legal or company directives regarding health and safety at work.

Knowledge, Skills & Experience Required:

• Previous warehouse experience is essential.
• Valid counterbalance FLT licence is essential.
• Full UK driving licence is essential.
• HACCP/ISO/COSHH knowledge is desirable.
• Practical experience of working within a high speed/FMCG manufacturing operation is essential.
• Knowledge of manufacturing and HSE process and legislation is essential.
• A passion to grow and develop.

Rotating Weekly Shift Pattern – 37.5 hours per week

Monday to Friday

• Week 1 = 05:45 – 14:00, with one 15-minute paid break and one 30-minute unpaid break
• Week 2 = 07:30-15:45, with one 15-minute paid break and one 30-minute unpaid break
• Week 3 = 08:00 – 16:15, with one 15-minute paid break and one 30-minute unpaid break
• Week 4 = 14:00 to 22:15, with one 15-minute paid break and one 30-minute unpaid break (temporarily 09:30-17:45)

Qualifications:

• Minimum 2 GCSE's A – C (5-9) or demonstrable ability to interpret technical information is essential.
• Valid counterbalance FLT licence is essential.
• Valid full UK Driving Licence is essential

Salary & Reward Package

• £30,810 per annum payable monthly
• 25 days (pro-rata) annual leave + bank holidays rising to 28 days with length of service (plus bank holidays)
