Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Assistant Cook to support our culinary team in delivering exceptional dining experiences, the role would require flexibility to cover the head chef when on annual leave & other shift patterns. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in food service and kitchen operations, demonstrating a passion for culinary excellence and a commitment to food safety.

Duties

  • Assist in the preparation and cooking of meals according to established recipes and dietary guidelines.
  • Support menu planning efforts, contributing ideas for seasonal dishes and catering options.
  • Ensure compliance with food safety standards and regulations during all food handling processes.
  • Participate in meal preparation, including chopping, slicing, and cooking various ingredients.
  • Provide excellent service during meal times, including plating dishes and serving as needed.
  • Maintain inventory of kitchen supplies and assist with ordering as necessary.

Experience

  • Previous experience is preferred.
  • Background in kitchen environments is highly desirable.
  • Proven experience in food preparation, cooking, and food service operations within the food industry.
  • Strong knowledge of food safety practices and regulations is essential.

Mush have previous experience and skills of working within a busy kitchen. Must have a food & hygiene certificate. NVQ level 3 in food hygiene & food preparation & cooking
